This year’s ARM-CE annual meeting was held on 20/21 November in Seligenstadt/Germany with close to 70 attendees. While trying to link our industry meetings with a possible practical approach, we were delighted to get the chance to link our annual ARM-CE meeting with the visit of an Open House day of our new member MAAG in Grossostheim.
The Open House event was the second occasion as part of which Maag, Gala and Reduction Engineering Scheer showcased their products together. This particular event centered around "Rotomolding" and took place at the subsidiary in Grossostheim, Germany.
The Open House event was scheduled for two subsequent days, catering once to German-speaking and then to international visitors. The many attendees witnessed a varied and comprehensive agenda. Interesting presentations about "Pulverizers for efficient powder production", "Innovations and progress in underwater micro-pelletizing and drying", as well as presentations about practical applications and personal experiences. These were all well received by the more than 100 participants from 17 different countries.
Alexander Datzinger, Head of Pulverizer at Maag Automatik GmbH, was happy to explain that "attending guests praised the interesting presentations and in particular the demonstrations at the in-house Test & Research Center, providing a profound overview of both production methods for powder and micro-pellets as well as their practical application options."
Maag once again realized that this kind of presenting state-of-the-art technologies and machine concepts is the way forward. Alaaddin Aydin, VP/GM Maag Germany, commented saying "it is our aim to continue to successfully provide powerful, efficient, and flexible melt handling, pelletizing systems, as well as pulverizers to suit market demands. The combined expertise within the entire group creates better solutions to the benefit of our customers."
Following the exciting Open House day with many interesting presentations and practical demonstrations focusing on pulverizing and pelletizing systems, we
moved venue to the nearby hotel where there was a first small table top exhibition with suppliers’ reception. During dinner buffet and bar hours there was plenty of time to catch up with old friends, customers, suppliers, etc.
The first part of presentation topics on the next day were focused on ARM-CE internals. In 2017 the ARM-CE total number of members has grown to 73, the highest number ever. Besides reporting on the progress on developing a German training and instruction material for rotational operators, the main focus was on informing members about current planning of ARMO2018 meeting in Hamburg, since this will be our biggest task in the next year.
Adding to the scheme of the Maag visit, some of the following technical presentations by suppliers did focus on simulation of material behavior, but also some general news. During coffee and lunch breaks, attendees had plenty of chances to visit the table top exhibitions learning about latest trends.
